Since the very beginning of my broadcasting career, I’ve always known that I wanted to use the media to empower people. I’ve NEVER been interested in fame or celebrity. I just want to share information that changes lives. Up to this point, I’ve been blessed to be able to do just that in various different ways. It’s been a comfortable existence with some great stints on local and national radio and TV – in fact, many of my career experiences have come fairly easily – which is what happens when you’re on purpose…
It wasn’t until I became an entrepreneur when things really start to get EXTREMELY challenging. No longer could I be the creative free-thinker who spent my days reading a dozen papers and being immersed in the news. Now, I had to learn systems, track revenues, do marketing, network, build the business, etc.!
Needless to say, I’ve had some hard knocks, endured some serious growth pains and several times, considered closing my business and going back into the uncertainty of the broadcasting world full-time (Yuck!).
Fast forward to September 2007 when I really started embracing the term Publicity POWER. I started to think of how I could take everything I’ve learned in media, publicity, motherhood, business and life and turn that into a transformative program for women entrepreneurs just like me who wanted learn the secrets of balancing all these demands while still being successful in their businesses, staying true to themselves and leveraging the power of media to share their message and authenticity with the world. Essentially they would become POWER personified!
I’ve finally figured out how to be a catalyst for helping women do all of the above, which is why I’m launching the Publicity POWER Platinum Inner Circle. This new program brings to fruition every aspect of my life long dream, but more importantly my purpose!
It seems like the moment I started developing the Publicity POWER concept, I started to get tested—pushed to my limits and challenged in every way. But I kept putting one foot in front of the other.
The more I accepted those challenges and the more risks I took, the more breakthroughs and success I began to have! What a journey!
Even though the Platinum Inner Circle program is exclusively for women, its “birth” drives home 3 key lessons that I’ve learned (that both men and women can apply) to experience unprecedented growth in their business and the kind of fulfillment in life that most people only dream of!
So, without further ado, here are the 3 things you must do to enjoy more success, money and happiness in life:
1.) Think BIG! Too many people in life are playing way too small in the world. Start thinking about how you can make 10 times as much money, get 5 times as many new clients and help 20 times as many people! Why just limit your influence to your town when thinking big can help you become a global phenomenon! Whenever I do my empowerment workshops I tell my clients to think so big people call you crazy! When folks think you’re crazy, it means you’re on the right track!
2.) Take risks. How often do you take risks? How often do you do things, even though you might feel fear or uncertainty or might not know exactly what the outcome will be? When you refuse to take risks, life and business become boring and monotonous but even worse, you don’t make progress and you don’t get the results you really want. Earlier this year when I was going through a financial “valley” in my business I took a big risk and invested in a coaching program that cost me a significant amount of money. I’m already starting to see the pay off because I took the risk! So remember this formula: risks + BIG thinking = progress, success and wealth.
3.) Join or create a Mastermind Group. As Karyn Greenstreet puts it, “There is synergy of energy, commitment and excitement that like-minded people bring to a Mastermind Group.” She goes on to say, “You get confidence, real progress in your business, an instant support network” and the skill and experience from others to grow your business!
I can attest to that because in November, I joined my very first Mastermind Group made up of 3 other women from Baltimore, New York and Toronto, Canada. Words cannot express the way we have all grown and supported one another in our businesses! It has been awesome.
